Top 5 Favorites – February 2020

March 6, 2020

Your Top 5 Favorites from February were all about matching sets.
Knit Skirt Set

I did an Instagram Story wearing this knit skirt & sweater set and got so many responses.  You loved how sophisticated it looks, and bonus points because it’s super comfortable too.  This is a core set that Tibi releases season after season, so you can always find past colors on sale.

Bermuda Shorts Suit

This Bermuda shorts suit first made an appearance in What I’m Coveting.  I also shot it as one of my NYFW FW20 looks.  Another sophisticated piece, I love its fun vibe.  Plus, it’s the perfect set to pair with amazing footwear.

Which brings me to… boots!

Snakeskin Boots

I shared two pairs of snakeskin boots in February and you loved them both.  One is a statement, designer pair and the other is a more practical, affordable pair.

Vintage Band Tee

Vintage band tees are a wardrobe staple in my book and you loved this one.  Shopbop is having a spring sale and tons of these band tees made the list.  Here are my sales favorites.

Band tee & Vintage Levi's

Little Black (or White) Dress

Finally, if you’re looking for the perfect summer dress, look no further than this one.  It comes in black and white, runs TTS and is SUPER flattering.  While it is short, the mini length means every kind of shoe will look great with this dress.  Try it with flat sandals for a beach day or statement block heels for a night on the town.

Bonus points: it’s on sale at this retailer.

Your Top 5 Favorites – October 2019

November 1, 2019

Everlane Wide Leg Cropped Pants

Your September favorites were all about beauty, but your October favorites were all about fashion!

I actually have 6 products to share with you this month because two were a tie.

Here’s what you loved in October
1) Concealer – I shared this life-changing concealer on my Sunday Series and you must have heard the passion in my voice because it was hands down an October favorite.  It’s super moisturizing, buildable and doesn’t cake or crease.  What more could you ask for?  It also comes in 30 colors so you’re bound to find the perfect shade match.
2) Ruffle sweater – I’ve been wearing this sweater on repeat and you love it just as much as I do.  A Nuuly find that I ended up purchasing, it’s sold out, but this one is almost an exact replica.  Also check out this one under $35 and this one.
3) Wide Leg Cropped Pants – seriously the most flattering pants I own.  If you’re pear or apple shaped, they minimize the widest parts of your body for an ultra flattering silhouette.  The fabric has a bit of stretch and they come in 6 colors and 2 lengths.  Plus, they’re available in sizes 00 – 16.
4) Plaid dress – this was the winner of my first Nuuly box thanks to its awesome silhouette.  The fabric is so comfortable and can be dressed up or down.  Paired with sandals in warmer temps and ankle boots in cooler temps, this baby is a year-round winner.
5) Floral midi dress – you guys loved my final look of NYFW.  Since that dress is no longer available, I found this one under $60.  It has the same floral print, bell sleeves and midi length.  Such a steal for $59!
6) Leopard joggers – these cozy joggers tied with the floral midi dress.  They’re amazingly comfortable, run TTS and have a flattering fit.  Unfortunately, after a couple hours of wear they already started pilling.  The care instructions said they are hand wash only, so that should have been my first clue.  The reviews online are stellar, so maybe you’ll have better luck than I did.

Your Top 5 Favorites – September 2019

October 2, 2019

September was all about beauty!

I talked a lot about my favorite green beauty products and you guys loved my Sunday Series on sun protection.  Read on for your favorites from September 2019 and why I love them too.

Your Top 5 Favorites

Cropped denim jacket – I styled it in this post and what’s not to love?  A denim jacket is a wardrobe staple and this one is priced right at $78 and super high quality.

Faux leather skirt – this caught my eye during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale because it has shorts underneath.  Since I’m all about trading my jeans in for skirts this fall, I think it’s an interesting choice for style plus coverage.

Mineral sunscreen – I happened to meet the creator of this mineral sunscreen and immediately fell in love with its balmy texture and the light coverage it provides.

Primer – I’ve tried a zillion primers and have never found one I liked until this one.  Also a balmy texture, it soaks into skin quickly and gives it a velvety feel ready for applying makeup.  A makeup bag MUST.

Silk pillowcase – I thought you’d be sick of hearing me tout the benefits of a silk pillowcase by now (wrinkle prevention, extends your hairstyle) but you are still loving this pillowcase 3 months in a row.  For good reason!  Don’t fall asleep without it.

Your Top 5 Favorites – July 2019

August 22, 2019

July was all about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so it’s no surprise your Top 5 Favorites were mostly from the sale.  And that’s great news because everything you loved is a fabulous basic and something that can be worn almost year-round.

Let’s dive in, shall we?

Silk Pillowcase

I’ve talked about the benefits of using a silk pillowcase before, and if you haven’t yet made the switch, what are you waiting for?  Proven to help with anti-aging by preventing face creases while you sleep (wrinkles) these are so soft and worth every penny.  The best part?  They are still at the Anniversary Sale price.  You save $51!

If you’re looking for a cheaper version, try these.  They won’t last as long, but are a great second choice.

Bras & Undies

My favorite bra and undies were part of the sale, and you also took advantage in July.  You won’t find anything as comfortable, period.  If you’ve sworn off underwire bras like I have, you MUST check these out.  The undies are great because they won’t show through.  No VPL here!

Linen BlazerThe Best Linen Blazers

This has been such a great piece for me this summer to dress up an outfit and make it more chic.  I love that it will easily transition to fall.  Bonus points that it comes in three colors.  I may have to add the white one to my list, although I already have 5 other white blazers.  Eek.  But can you ever have too many blazers?

Utility JacketJoie Linen Utility Jacket

Another great transition jacket for the win.  I love the balloon sleeves, the tie on the inside to cinch the waist and the more casual vibe of this linen jacket.  You guys did too.

Fully stocked in sizes XXS – XL, it’s currently 70% off!

Cashmere SweaterNordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019

If you’re not familiar with Nordstrom Signature cashmere, get yourself acquainted.  It’s one of the highest quality cashmere I can find at a truly incredible pricepoint.  I saved $100 on this sweater during the Anniversary sale.  Even if you missed the boat, I would still purchase it at full price, it’s that good.  You will literally have this sweater for the rest of your life.  So cozy, a great basic and the funnel neck and side slits make it so easy to style.

Your Top Five Favorites May 2019

June 5, 2019

May was quite a month!  Between our first road trip with baby, to cool, rainy weather, my outfits ranged from versatile basics to statement trend pieces.

Below are your Top 5 Favorite Products from May 2019.

Peasant top

I truly believe every woman needs a peasant top.  Understated enough to be versatile, but also statement making thanks to the billowing sleeves, it’s the perfect spring/summer choice.  I wore mine wine tasting in NorCal and loved how comfortable and breezy it was.

Joie Mitney Cotton Top

High waist denim shorts

For the second month in a row, these ultra high rise denim shorts were your faves.  Rightly so!  They suck you in in all the right places and have a long enough hem not to make you feel on display.  Mine fit TTS, but if your waist and hips are relatively the same width, you should size up.  These have a tapered waist and are 100% cotton so there is no give.

Agolde Dee ultra high rise shorts

Wide Leg Crop Pant

I have yet to shoot these pants for the blog, but I shared them via Instagram Stories as a red hot find.  They come in 7 colors, short and regular lengths, sizes 00 – 16 and are ultra flattering.  Made of cotton and elastane they have some stretch so you could literally sleep in them they are so comfy.  I wore them for a day at the aquarium with my daughter and felt elevated yet comfortable.

Everlane Wide Leg Crop Pant

Statement sleeve sweatshirt

This look was a clear winner for you in May.  Who doesn’t love a statement sleeve?  My sweatshirt comes in 5 colors (hurry, it’s selling out fast!) and has a cropped length.  It’s the perfect casual and fun piece to wear with high waisted bottoms.  I love that it’s basically amped up loungewear.

Tibi Shirred Sleeve Sweatshirt

Tie dye dress

My how to style tie dye in 2019 post clearly struck a chord with you.  Cheers to all my former grunge kids.  Since we’re no longer in middle school, I shared ways to style this trend so you look chic and relevant today.  This dress was a clear winner.  I have it in a different color (stay tuned for that post!) and love this tie dye version as well.  It’s a great way to dip your toe in the trend with a silhouette that’s timeless.
