Cowboy Boots for Fall

Western-inspired dressing has long been a theme in the fashion world.  Not only is it prevalent in American brands (cowboy heritage), but many luxury European brands have equestrian roots.  Think Hermès, Chloé, Gucci.

When I saw cowboy boots styled over and over again in the Fall/Winter 2021 collections, I got excited.  This is an easy and fun way to get dressed.  Cowboy boots are comfortable.  They look awesome with versatile pieces we all own (i.e. blazers and jeans) and offer beautiful juxtaposition when paired with feminine dresses.

My boots are from Raf Simons’ now shuttered CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC line.  I paired them with vintage orange tab Levi’s and an oversized blazer.

How to Style a Blazer for Fall

I love a good blazer.  The styling options are endless.

If Copenhagen Fashion Week is any indication (more on that for Fashion Friday), the blazer trend isn’t going anywhere.

For Fall 2021, pair your blazer with a band tee and vintage jeans.  I picked up these Carhartt men’s jeans from a local vintage shop and love their oversized, worn-in look.  To elevate the masculine inspired outfit, I styled it with these heels.  This color had been sold out all summer and just came back in stock.  For less than $50, they are such a great buy.  They are SUPER comfortable (the heel height is just perfect) and come in 5 colors.

I’ve owned this blazer for years but the cut is classic.  Go for double-breasted or one-button oversized blazers for fall.  I love neutral colors – navy, camel and olive – and windowpane prints instead of standard black or white.

Also check out full suits in pop colors like kelly green or pink.  Suits look amazing with so many shoe options – heels, boots, sneakers or flat sandals – that you can’t go wrong.  Stick to wide-leg suit pants for fall 2021 and don’t be afraid to layer them with oversized scarves or grandpa cardigans.

Comfy Sandals + Denim Cutoffs

Earlier this week, I shared a mini review of these sandals on Instagram.  They come in 10 colors, run TTS and are SUPER comfortable.

The cushioned insole is like a cloud for your foot and the leather is buttery soft.  For under $100, these might be my best summer shoe purchase.

 

I paired them with my favorite denim cutoffs (read my full review here).  I recommend buying your favorite denim in two sizes.  This is the smaller of the two sizes I own.  Check out the fit difference compared to the larger size here.

Because they are 100% cotton, if you only want one size, I recommend sizing down.  They will stretch.

Paired with nautical stripes, this is an easy and fun summer look.

Feeling put together in my loungewear is so important to me, and this set gets a 10 out of 10.  It comes in multiple colors as well as a shorts version for summer.

The fabric is substantial, super soft, and each piece runs TTS.  While there are plenty of cheap loungewear sets out there, I am so glad I invested in this one because it looks sharp and will last forever.

AGOLDE Parker Long Denim Shorts

AGOLDE Parker Long Shorts AGOLDE Parker Long ShortsLast year I wrote about my 3 Favorite Pairs of Denim Cutoffs. One of those pairs is the AGOLDE Parker, and this year they released a long version!  If you don’t like short shorts, I highly recommend checking these out.

Sizing

I own these in a size 24 and 25.  I’m wearing a size 25 here.  In jeans, I’m either a 25 or 26 (usually lean towards 26) so I was just as surprised as you when the 24 fit.

Pro tip: when you find a denim style you like, consider buying two sizes for a different look – relaxed and tailored.

Verdict

These have absolutely replaced the original AGOLDE Parker’s (2.5-inch inseam) on my Top 3 Favorites list.  The longer inseam and high (but not too high) rise is a very flattering and comfortable combo.

I like having both sizes in rotation because I can style them according to the activity.  I wear the smaller size for a tailored look, and the larger size for a relaxed look when I’m doing beach or summer activities.
