Black & Tan

December 22, 2014

Gucci6 Gucci4 Gucci3 Gucci7 Gucci5 Gucci8 Gucci1 Gucci2 I love black and tan as a color combo, especially in winter. There’s something a little equestrian about it, which radiates confidence and sophistication. It’s not often I get to break out my winter-wear, so it’s a celebration of sorts when I can don my long leather gloves, cashmere scarf and wool coat. Nevermind that I chose to wear them at the beach. A California girl at heart…

J. Crew wool coat and riding boots // Banana Republic sweater and sunglasses //
Nordstrom cashmere scarf // J Brand skinnies //
Brian Atwood for Target x Neiman Marcus gloves // Gucci bag

Blue Ivy

December 15, 2014

Ivy1 Ivy4 Ivy5 Ivy2a Sometimes, for one reason or another, we do a shoot that never ends up on the blog.  At the time, I thought this particular shoot was a little too basic, but at second glance I actually love it.  The simple styling of cable knit, ankle boots and a pencil skirt represent the everyday pieces that can be found in any woman’s closet.  Each pieces is totally interchangeable and the pops of color in the skirt and boots and the jeweled neckline of the sweater, make for little twists on their fundamental nature.  Keep it simple.

3.1 Phillip Lim for Target sweater // J. Crew skirt // BCBG Max Azria ankle boots

The Perfect Staple

December 8, 2014

Fendi4 Fendi3 Fendi6 Fendi7 Fendi2 Fendi5 Fendi9 Fendi1 Fendi8This ensemble is one of those outfits that is quite simple yet combines some very special pieces.  The perfect handbag can be tricky.  I tend to fall in love with one and then only bring it out on special occasions for fear of something happening to it.  Isn’t it funny how sometimes our favorite pieces are the ones we try to protect instead of celebrate?  Not so with this one.  The classic black is perfectly understated yet has enough detail to stand out from the crowd, and the Saffiano leather makes it super durable.  I love it paired with these sleek loafers and gorgeous, delicate choker.

Vince top // Madewell Jeans // By Boe choker // Giles & Brother bracelet //
Zara shoes // Fendi bag

Wrapped Up

December 1, 2014

LS3 LS4 LS5 LS2 LS6 LS1 LS7 LS8 LS9This time of year tends to shift into overdrive, so I like to have a go-to comfy outfit for running errands and last minute holiday shopping.  This poncho-cardigan hybrid is great for keeping warm without overheating when I’m running from A to B.  And despite the heel, these boots are amazingly comfortable thanks to the cushy, memory foam sole.  An added bonus?  It’s a great put together look for when I inevitably run into someone I know and end up sitting down for an impromptu coffee. Sure beats running errands in yoga clothes. 🙂

Zara poncho // Madewell jeans // Banana Republic silk tank and rings //
Pianegonda necklace // Oliver Peoples sunglasses // Rag & Bone booties

Alexander Wang X H&M

November 24, 2014

HMW1 HMW2 HMW3 HMW4 HMW7 HMW6 HMW9 HMW5 HMW8 A couple weeks after the Alexander Wang x H&M collection has launched and I’m still as enamored with this dress as the first time I saw it previewed months ago. It’s crazy mesh cutouts are truly something to behold.  Part prize fighter, part understated elegance, only Alexander Wang could combine two totally different personas to create a perfectly harmonious silhouette.  I love him, I love him, I love him and where he goes I’ll follow…

Alexander Wang x H&M dress // Alexander Wang booties // Stephen Webster ring //
